about us

Youth Jam is Perth’s only dedicated youth‑led media and radio network — created to amplify the thoughts, opinions and stories of young Western Australians.
Through engaging radio, social content, podcasts and digital media, we spotlight the experiences of 12–25‑year‑olds and break down the news that affects them most.
Founded on 1 March 2017 by a then‑15‑year‑old Isaac Mulcrone, Youth Jam began with a simple mission: give young people a say. Nearly a decade later, that philosophy still drives everything we do.

our values

At Youth Jam, our values guide everything we do. We champion leadership by empowering young people to shape their world, celebrate creativity through bold ideas and fresh storytelling, uphold respect by honouring diverse voices and lived experiences, and embrace responsibility as we produce ethical, youth‑safe media that reflects and supports our community.

Our Vision

To give young people a voice through media that is informed, meaningful and deeply engaging.

our mission

To connect young people across Western Australia and beyond, through accessible media that makes them feel heard, represented and part of something bigger.

Our Story:
A Timeline

World Radio was founded by Isaac Mulcrone. The station’s slogan was ‘Bringing the world to your radio’. At the time, our CEO was 15 years of age with only two years of experience in radio broadcasting.

World Radio was re-branded to Youth Jam Radio. The change was to facilitate our audience and present ourselves as a niche service. Youth Jam Radio also began partnering with youth groups and broadcasting live from their events on Friday nights. Youth Jam Radio began recruiting and training volunteers in its on-going training program.

Youth Jam Radio had its first fundraising appeal. The station only raised $88.97, but it was a starting point of our growing organisation.

Youth Jam Radio unveiled its new logo at its first public open day. The logo was unveiled by CEO, Isaac Mulcrone, alongside a member of Parliament, as well as his management team. The station also unveiled its new slogan, ‘Made by youth, for youth’.

Youth Jam Radio raised its largest ever amount in an on-air fundraising appeal EVER! Thanks to the generosity of listeners, the station raised $1,500.

Youth Jam Radio launched its 2020: New Vision. We altered our name to simply, Youth Jam. We also changed our logo to the current Youth Jam logo.

Youth Jam re-branded to Youth Talk Radio.
