As previously reported, the Brisbane midfielder will miss Saturday’s grand final against Fremantle after receiving a one-match suspension for an off-the-ball strike during Saturday’s preliminary final against Hawthorn.

The Tribunal upheld the decision, but the Lions have vowed to appeal.

Neale’s hearing lasted nearly two hours, with deliberations extending for over two hours.

Jaxon Bassett, Youth Jam’s sports correspondent, told Isaac Mulcrone that the AFL made the right call.

“I’m glad the AFL has stuck firm with their call. I do agree they made the right decision in grading it medium-impact and intentional,” he said.

Despite the setback, Bassett believes the club will cope without their star player.

“The feeling amongst the Brisbane players and coach Chris Fagan is if one soldier goes down we can bring someone else in and our system will hold up and we’ll be just as strong,” he told Newsflash listeners.

He added that the club remains focused on its game plan, with or without Neale.
