The 19-year-old stars as Dusty the Lion Tamer in ‘COME ALIVE! The Greatest Showman circus spectacular’, but she is using her downtime to craft her circus skills.

Speaking to Youth Jam’s Luke Sharp, Walsgott says the professionals make it look easy.

“They’ve offered to teach us a lot. I’ve had a go… There’s an act in the show where there’s two straps hanging from the ceiling and you hang from the straps by your hands and you’re flipping your body around and making cool shapes and stuff like that,” she told Luke Sharp LIVE listeners.

“It is so much harder than it looks, they make it look so easy. I have one swing on it and my shoulders are sore for a week.”

The show, which arrives in Perth on 27th August, will be housed in a purpose-built Hippodrome at Crown Perth and offers an all-ages spectacular reimagining the biggest hits from The Greatest Showman.

Walsgott describes the show as being “thrown into the world of the circus”.

“You walk into the big top and you are thrown into the world of the circus. There’s singers, dancers, circus performers and it’s different to the movie in the sense that you’re in the world, in the circus,” she said.

The teen is making her professional musical theatre debut and says she pinches herself that she is “actually here doing it”.

“It’s such an incredible show to do for my first professional experience.”
