“I was saying to some friends yesterday that I don’t know how long Luke Herdegen is going to stick around in One Nation for if he’s going to be the puppet to Rod Caddies,” he pondered on Newsflash.
Mulcrone suggests Herdegen may defect to sit as an independent—a path similar to Jonathan Huston when he left the WA Liberal Party.
Alexander Circosta questioned how long it would be before Herdegen abandons the party, which is led at a national level by Pauline Hanson. The pair debated whether it was a matter of weeks or months.
“How many months are we thinking? Three? Before he does the big turn,” Circosta asked.
“I think you’re going too high… Give it two to five months,” Mulcrone replied.
Why the chatter? Mulcrone said he had heard rumours within his circles, but both also highlighted recent interviews where Herdegen proposed policies that appeared inconsistent with the traditional One Nation platform.
